Refugee Stories
4) Ameen aziz mehmood.
I came to Ireland as an asylum seeker with the hope of getting refugee status. I came to Ireland alone and was very uncertain about my future. I felt safe but without family I felt really uncomfortable. I was so depressed, as it had been discovered also that I had a brain tumour. I was constantly worried about my wife and four children who were and still are residing at the Iraqi border. I am fearful of the danger which they are in, there is bombing and fighting and they are not safe. Also because of my condition I want to see my family beside me .With the assistance and cooperation of RIS I applied for family reunification application and at last I have some good news; soon my family will be able to join me and be near me at the time of my death.
