About Us
Vision

The Refugee Information Service (RIS) exists to counter social exclusion through the provision of a specialist information, advice, advocacy and referral service for asylum seekers and refugees.
The RIS works to promote a society where people seeking the protection of Ireland are welcomed and safe, their human rights and dignity are respected and they have the best possible chance to achieve their full potential.
In adhering to the internationally recognised principle that people have the right to seek and enjoy protection from persecution and danger, the RIS believes it is essential that the rights of asylum seekers, refugees, people with subsidiary protection and leave to remain in Ireland are fully realised in law, policy and practice and that proper regard is given to their experiences.
The RIS will continue to support the work of community groups who are in contact with our client groups and to provide a comprehensive nationwide training service. Through research the RIS aims to influence policy and legislation and the organisation is committed to assisting those seeking to integrate into Irish society.
