Josephine Ahern
Josephine Ahern is the Director of the Refugee Information Service (RIS). She was appointed as the first director in October 2006 and in consultation with the Board of Directors has led the organisation through a period of growth and development.
Josephine’s professional background includes having led the development of the action plan on homelessness for Dublin in her former role as the Deputy Director of the Homeless Agency. In a previous role as a political adviser to the Queensland Government in Australia she led reform in the areas of justice for Indigenous Australians, and for women.
Josephine also held senior roles in the Queensland public service including with the Department of Justice and Attorney-General and Legal Aid Queensland.
