Ali Dennehy
Ali graduated in 1997 from UCD with a BA in English and Philosophy. In 2001 she received a Masters in Humanitarian Assistance from UCD which is part of the Network of Humanitarian Assistance programme run through the European Commission Humanitarian Office.
Ali started working part-time with the RIS in 2002 working in office management and became full-time in 2002 as an Information and Advocacy Officer. Her work over the years has included advocacy and casework for clients including client representation during statutory and legal processes. She monitors and reports on emerging client needs and changes in legislation and statutory policies and is involved with daily information provision (telephone and email) to the asylum community, service providers and support groups.
She has also volunteered with the ISPCC and run a needs-specific clinic for the Roma Community in Pavee Point and a clinic for vulnerable women in the Catherine McAuley Centre.
